About Us

PDC4PM

Started in Taiwan, PDC4PM is a genomic data and personalized health care company aiming to unlock the potential of precision medicine for Han Chinese and other linked Asians.

Genomics is one of the fastest growing research areas in life science as well as one of the key elements driving the research and development of precision medicine. Additionally, recent advancement of AI has largely shortened the R&D period and increased the demand for diverse, quality genomic data.

 

PDC4PM is dedicated to building a phenotype-enriched genomic biobank and providing personalized health care for Han Chinese populations. We believe, by filling the gap of genomic data between western and eastern population, we can help our partners improve R&D of drug discoveries, diagnostics, and personalized health care worldwide, especially for the Han Chinese population which accounts for about 18% of world population.

Building Asian Digital Biobank (ADB)

Partnering with several research institutes, universities and medical centers, we are integrating the existing biobank in Taiwan and continuing expanding the genomic data to build the Asian Digital Biobank, the largest phenotype-enriched genomic biobank in Taiwan, focusing on aging, CKM (Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic), Kidney Genetics, HCC (Hepatocellular carcinoma) and Breast Cancer.

Personalized Health Care

We provide WES/WGS-based health management solutions to both adults and newborns through our hospital partners, providing people in Taiwan with comprehensive insight of their genes and how their genes affect their health. Additionally, we are developing Kidney Genetic Tests based on our ADB and findings of pathogenic gene variance among Taiwanese, aiming to reduce the rate of Hemodialysis patients in Taiwan.

Dr. Peter Tsai

Founder & Chair of Scientific Advisory Board, PDC4PM
Dr. Tsai is the Founder and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of PDC4PM. He is the Distinguished Investigator in the Institute of Molecular and Genomic Medicine, NHRI. In 2017, he was the Principal Investigator of the Flagship Program of Precision Medicine for Asia Pacific Biomedical Silicon Valley, which successfully established TGIA Inc. under Public-Private Partnership structure. He is also the founder of SP BioMed and a Professor of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.

Dr. Tsai received his Ph.D. in Human Genetics at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, City University of NY (USA).

Dr. Ralph Kirby

Co-founder
Dr. Kirby is the Co-founder and Scientific & Legal Advisor of PDC4PM. He was the Senior Consultant of Flagship Program of Precision Medicine NHRI. He is the Director of TIGeR Biopharm PTE. LTD. and a professor Emeritus of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.

Dr. Kirby received his M.A in Genetics from Cambridge University (UK), his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of East Anglia (UK) and his Bachelor/Master of Laws (LLB/LLM) in Intellectual Property Law from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.

Dr. Mark Dunnenberger

Co-founder
Dr. Dunnenberger is the Co-founder and Scientific Advisory Board Member of PDC4PM. He is the Director of Pharmacogenomics at the NorthShore University Health System Center for Molecular Medicine and a member of the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC). He was the Senior Consultant of the Flagship Program of Precision Medicine for Asia Pacific Biomedical Silicon Valley.

Dr. Dunnenberger is a Pharm.D. from the University of Tennessee (USA) and a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
